Well hello, friend! This year’s (technically last year’s) mini sessions went well even with a few hiccups. I ended up having to split up the sessions because of having to quarantine and others getting sick. Some families used their photos for Christmas gifts so I waited until after Christmas to put up this blog post. Anyway, here is the Fall 2020 mini session recap!
Frank + Becca
Frank & Becca have 2 sweet kids that were a lot of fun. 🙂 Bella was especially giggly (which of course makes for easy photos), and even though Buddy wasn’t overjoyed to have his photo taken, he was a good sport and did a fantastic job!
We met out at Dillon Nature Center on a chilly day…we even let the kids put their jackets on in between shots. 🙂
I’ve known Frank for quite a few years (we graduated high school together so there’s no need to count the actual years, ok?) and I was so tickled when he signed up for a photo session! We’ve kept in touch over the years and I always enjoy getting to chat with Becca. She is so fun and doesn’t let Frank get away with anything. 😉
Thank you Frank & Becca for trusting me with your beautiful family photos and thanks kids for not rolling your eyes too much at my crazy nonsense! 🙂
Heather + boys
I’ve known Heather for less time than Frank & Becca, but we became quick friends when I was driving the school bus a few years ago and her sweet boy Isaac rode my bus! She is a caring mom to these guys and does so much for them.
I was so excited when Heather signed up for a mini session & couldn’t wait to get this sweet family in front of my camera!
We met at Dillon Nature Center 2 weeks after the original mini session date (because I had to quarantine). Even though we were a few weeks after the first frost, fall colors were still showing off & it was a really nice day for photos!
We were able to get photos of each boy individually and each boy with mom. And of course, we got some group shots.
I had a great time with them & am so glad we were able to get together to get Heather some updated family photos. 🙂
I know that getting kids dressed decently & out the door in time to meet a photographer seems daunting at times. But I know it’s always worth it and I’m sure Heather is glad she got it done! 🙂
I did have a couple more families sign up for mini sessions. But because of illnesses we haven’t been able to get together yet for their shoot.
Do you know you need to get family photos taken?
If you’re waiting to get family photos done, I encourage you to just do them.
I know we can all take fairly decent candid photos with our cell phones. But having someone who knows what they’re doing & pose you so that you don’t cringe when you look at the photo is so much better.
Plus, sometimes your kids smile better for me than they do for you (it’s ok – mine do the same to me sometimes) ;).
If you want to get on my email list so you know when I’m booking next, just go here. You’ll get an awesome “What to Wear” Guide that will help you in planning your next family photo session.
The guide has 11 pages packed full of helpful tips so that you can confidently dress your family for your photo shoot.
I hope you’ll grab that download and that it helps you! I had lots of fun photographing my Fall 2020 mini session families. Hopefully I get to photograph your family this year! 🙂
