Hannah & Drew’s wedding at Lakeside Wedding Venue in Hutchinson, KS was a sweet day fitting for the sweetest couple. When the weather didn’t cooperate for an outdoor ceremony, they rolled with the punches and held the ceremony inside amidst the twinkle lights. Later in the evening, the weather lifted and we were able to go outside and not blow over sideways. So we enjoyed the beautiful evening by walking around the property and getting a few photos as newlyweds.
how it all began…
Their love story starts at work where they met, started texting and talking all the time, and then had their first date. And as they put it, the rest is history. 🙂
When I asked Hannah how the proposal happened, this is what she told me.
“We went for dinner at a fancier place than we could afford, then we looked for something free to do with the rest of the evening. We decided to see keeper of the plains and look out at the city. It was a freezing cold October night and we decided to head back to the car. Before I got to far he grabbed my hand. He was shaking and then he got down on one knee.”
Sounds about perfect to me. 🙂
When Hannah had her dress on and looked at herself, it hit her that her long-anticipated wedding day was finally here. And she was so ready to finally marry her guy. It was such a special moment. There’s a lot of planning that goes into this single day and I’m glad she had a minute to soak it all in. 🙂
their first look…
Hannah and Drew decided to have a first look (which I love!). Having a first look before the wedding is such a special time. It’s just you and me and I let you take all the time you need to talk, admire your outfits and laugh at how the day has gone so far.
I will support whatever my couples want to do, but this is such a nice way to soak in the first time you see each other in your wedding attire. There’s no big crowd watching, and you can just have some time to yourselves.

a sweet surprise…
After they had a chance to hug, and talk a bit on their own, Drew had a sweet surprise for Hannah…he proposed again! He had bought a new engagement ring for Hannah since the original one wasn’t one that would last for years. Drew wanted her to have a nice ring that wouldn’t tarnish over time. She loves dainty jewelry, so he did good and she was sufficiently surprised and delighted. 🙂
