Nick and Hillary tied the knot on an unusually warm fall day in Nickerson, KS. Their Nickerson wedding was full of pretty fall flowers and loving family excited to see these two get married!
We started off the day getting a few photos of the details that made their day special, then photographing them getting ready.
With a few of their friends and family nearby, they saw each other for the first time that day.
They decided to have a first look together, and it was so sweet to see Nick’s face when he saw his bride. He couldn’t believe his eyes. 🙂 (If you’re considering having a “first look”, check out this blog post I wrote as it may help you decide.)
After the first look we took a little bit of time to get some portraits of just the two of them.
Taking just 10-15 minutes for portraits of just the bride and groom is a really special time in the day. Especially if you’ve had a “first look”. Everything is ready and you can relax for a few minutes with your love. If you’re curious what type of timeline is ideal, check out this blog post. It’s super helpful with sample timelines and how much time to plan for each step. 🙂
Next up were the wedding party and family photos. Hooray! 🙂
The ceremony was sweet with beautiful harp music and special personal touches throughout. The pastor spoke about loving each other (of course) 🙂 and encouraged Nick & Hillary to look at other marriages and take note of what they like (and don’t like) about those other relationships, and then apply those lessons to their own marriage.
After they exchanged rings, Nick & Hillary combined their two vases of sand into one vase, symbolizing the two of them becoming one through marriage.
After a prayer, the pastor said they could kiss! And pronounced them husband and wife. 🙂
Nick and Hillary were able to borrow her dad’s awesome Charger for their getaway….talk about leaving your wedding in style! 🙂
The reception was held at Sand Hills Event Center and was beautifully decorated with fall flowers from
Everyone had a great time dancing and enjoyed the evening!
Do you know Nick & Hillary? They’d love for you to leave a note below…maybe some great marriage advice? 🙂
